Lynn Cohen is a stage and screen actress whose career began in regional theatre. She made her Off-Broadway debut in GETTING OUT (1979), which opened at the Actors Theatre of Louisville before transferring to Theatre de Lys, now called the Lucille Lortel Theatre. Her other Off-Broadway credits include: Wendy Wasserstein’s ISN’T IT ROMANTIC (1984), HAMLET (1986) at The Public Theater, LOVE DIATRIBE (1990), THE MODEL APARTMENT (1995), THE DEVILS (1997), MACBETH (2006), CHASING MANET (2009), I REMEMBER MAMA (2014), and BIG LOVE (2015). Cohen has worked with Circle Repertory Theatre, Primary Stages, Manhattan Theatre Club, and New York Theatre Workshop, among others. She has been nominated for Drama League and Lucille Lortel Awards, and she won the 2009 Richard Seff Award for her performance in CHASING MANET

Cohen was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, and she grew up with a love for performance, taking dance classes for most of her childhood and participating in summer stock productions. Her career extends beyond the New York theatre world. She has worked extensively in regional theatre, as well as in film and TV. Cohen is perhaps best known for her role as Magda on the megahit TV series “Sex and the City,” as well as in the films in that franchise. Some of her other film credits include: Vanya on 42nd Street (1994), Munich (2005), Across the Universe (2007), and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013). She has appeared on Broadway in Orpheus Descending (1989) and Ivanov (1997).
